Beer drinkers, more often than not, have a personal connection to the beer that they drink.

Our favorite brands become our connection to ‘place’. When Steam Donkey opened, there had not been a brewery in Aberdeen in 70+ years. The doors opened in 2017 with the hope that people would find a connection with local beer made in Grays Harbor.

Back when the company was just two people who practically lived at the brewery, splitting all the jobs; brewing, marketing, bartending, event planning, & supply runs..[you name it, they did it], they knew this space needed more than just themselves to thrive. 

Today, Steam Donkey is still led by the original owners, but with a fantastic team of individuals that work together to make our Tiny Brewery Space the place to get local beer.  

We are a female majority owned brewery, and through our Brewster beer series, we are brewing all women brews in the brewhouse! The future is definitely female at Steam Donkey!

Speaking of brews, we brew the delightful Punchy Brewster and Kalaloch Kolsch as our Flagship beers, and you will find those most often out and about in Grays Harbor.  Our rotating tap list also features some kick ass pale ales, and the beloved Mountains Out IPA.  We also love older staple beers, such as our Nebulous Hefeweizen, and CDA, and often brew interesting table beers and seltzers to round out the tap list.

While we still occupy the original tasting room that we opened up in on March 17, 2017, we are bursting at the seams in both our brewing space and tasting room, and have acquired additional storage. We like to say, whether it’s your first time in, or your 1000th, you feel like you belong here, and we’re not wrong. This is your space, we just brew in it!
